Production Support Engineer
Job Summary
To provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time remote Production Support Engineer will manage system outages, develop technical solutions, and ensure compliance with security policies while collaborating with users and senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document problems and solutions accurately in logging and discrepancy reporting tools, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain compliance with Veterans Affairs standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including familiarity with S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with experience in system administration tasks
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
