Production Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time remote Production Support Engineer will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and troubleshooting for cloud systems, documenting issues and solutions
- Respond to user inquiries regarding hardware and software problems, escalating as necessary
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Strong proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, as well as system administration tasks
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes
