Production Support Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Production Support Engineer will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document and report system issues while communicating with users and senior management regarding problem statuses
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain an inventory of system assets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including tools like S3 and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Strong experience with system administration tasks and automation tools like Ansible or Puppet
