Production Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time remote Production Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and manage system outages while ensuring compliance with security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance for complex application cloud systems
- Detect, isolate, and resolve system outages, documenting issues and communicating statuses to users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages like Python or Bash
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewall configurations, and secure best practices for production systems
