Profee Coding Specialist II

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Profee Coding Specialist II will review clinical documentation and assign diagnostic and procedural codes for infectious disease, rheumatology, and endocrinology, working remotely while ensuring compliance with billing and reimbursement requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Select and sequence ICD-10 and/or CPT/HCPCS codes for various patient types, ensuring accurate documentation for billing
• Review facility records to validate APC assignments and ensure accurate coding reflects documented diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and participate in continuing education activities to enhance skills and credentials

Required qualifications:

• An active AHIMA or AAPC credential such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA, COC, CCS-P, or CPC
• Two years of recent hands-on coding experience in profee multispecialty infectious disease, rheumatology, and endocrinology
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology
• Ability to consistently code at a 95% quality threshold while meeting production standards
• Proficient in MS Office, including data entry and Excel functionalities
