Project Accounting Subject Matter Expert
Job Summary
Serving as a Project Accounting Subject Matter Expert, the full-time position will ensure accurate revenue recognition, support month-end and quarter-end close processes, and maintain compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and issue resolution for project and revenue accounting across the organization
- Lead the month- and quarter-end close, including revenue reviews and analysis of project costs and profitability
- Develop financial analyses and reporting to identify trends and revenue recognition risks
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in project accounting and revenue recognition
- Expert knowledge of ASC 606 and strong understanding of GAAP and FAR
- Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint and recent experience with Cognos
- Ability to apply revenue recognition methodologies across various contract types
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex accounting issues
