Protection and Control Engineer
Job Summary
Executing Protection and Control Engineering and Consulting services, the full-time remote Lead Protection and Control Engineer will design, program, test, and commission protection and control applications for power system design and substation automation projects across the US and Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex protection solutions for electrical utilities and industrial clients
- Conduct engineering studies and analyses, including short circuit and load flow studies
- Create and test relay setting files for protection and control elements and support site acceptance testing
Required qualifications
- B.S. or higher degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering specialized in power systems
- Seven years of experience in design, study, and analysis of electric power systems
- Knowledge of power system steady and transient analysis, fault study, and protection theory
- Experience with study software and power system tools such as MATLAB and SKM
- Willingness to represent the company and apply for permits for engineering services
