Job Summary
To support the Immunization Unit, the full-time International PAHO Consultant - Measles will conduct advanced analysis of vaccination data, enhance data quality, and develop methodologies for evaluating vaccine-preventable disease surveillance systems, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement analytic methodologies for evaluating vaccine-preventable disease surveillance information systems, focusing on measles
- Contribute to the enhancement of the Monitoring Performance tool and assist countries in its implementation for effective immunization program management
- Prepare regional analyses and summaries for internal and external audiences, utilizing various information sources
Required qualifications
- University degree in health (e.g., Medicine, Nursing) and a postgraduate degree in Public Health or related fields
- At least 7 years of experience in health, disease surveillance, and health information systems management
- Demonstrated experience with vaccine-preventable disease surveillance information systems or Electronic Immunization Registries
- Proven skills in data analysis, data quality assessment, and use of statistical or visualization tools
- Intermediate knowledge of Spanish or English, with proficiency in the other language being desirable
