Public Health Data Analyst

Job Summary

Providing data analysis and public health expertise, the full-time Public Health Data Analyst will support the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network by managing analytic workflows, applying statistical methods, and collaborating with stakeholders, all in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end analytic workflows, including data integration, cleaning, and analysis using Python and R
• Conduct clinical and operational analyses using HL7 FHIR-based data and assess data quality
• Communicate analytic findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, or a related field with at least nine years of relevant experience; or a master's degree with at least seven years of relevant experience
• Experience using Python or R for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience managing large datasets and performing quality control
• Experience with quality-assurance testing involving healthcare data
• Ability to successfully complete a federal Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation if required by the project
