Job Summary
To support a Federal client with a business and IT modernization project, the remote Design Lead (UX/UI) will lead user research, develop design deliverables, and ensure accessibility standards are met while applying human-centered design principles.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead user research activities including usability testing and interviews at regular sprint intervals
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for user-facing features while maintaining consistent design patterns
- Ensure designs comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and Section 508 requirements
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology, Information Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of UX/UI design and research experience, with at least 2 years on federal government or large public-sector digital products
- Strong knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, or similar)
- Experience conducting user research in a government or regulated environment
