Python Team Lead

Job Summary

Leading a team of engineers, the remote contract Python Team Lead will take ownership of backend features, design and maintain integrations with external systems, and ensure system reliability through testing and observability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership for a team and take ownership of backend features from design to production support
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and Django, including integrations with KYC and payment systems
• Implement observability across integration flows and support production issues while participating in on-call rotations

Required qualifications

• Experience leading and managing a team of at least 3 engineers
• Minimum of 5 years of development experience with Python, focusing on API and system integrations
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs with a strong understanding of webhooks and failure handling
• Experience with observability tools for monitoring production integrations
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and architecture design for scalable solutions
