Quality Control Engineer
Job Summary
To support the scaling of mapping operations, the remote Quality Control Engineer will review and audit high-definition map datasets for accuracy and completeness, collaborating with engineering teams to optimize quality control workflows and identify defects in geospatial data.
Key responsibilities
- Review HD map geospatial data against quality specifications and ground-truth sources
- Identify and document map defects, escalating critical issues to engineering teams
- Define and refine QC metrics and workflows to enhance map accuracy at scale
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 1-5 years of experience in geospatial data QC, map production, or GIS analysis
- Experience with geospatial data formats and GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Strong attention to detail in identifying spatial or geometric inconsistencies
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and vendor teams
