Quality Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a Quality Engineer to join a remote data engineering team, this full-time position will develop and implement quality assurance strategies and testing methodologies to ensure data accuracy and reliability across financial and regulatory data pipelines.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement data quality strategies, standards, and testing practices for data pipelines and analytical datasets
- Design and execute automated and manual tests to validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into data quality controls throughout the SDLC
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering roles
- Strong programming experience with Python and developing automated tests and test frameworks
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL, as well as testing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Familiarity with distributed data processing technologies such as Apache Spark/PySpark and cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS
