Quantum Computing Engineer

Job Summary

To support a federal government client, the full-time salaried Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer will utilize programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms, advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using various programming languages
• Advise on quantum resistant algorithm migration and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies
• Assess organizational cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, and quantum information theory
• Proficiency in quantum programming languages and frameworks such as Qiskit and Microsoft Quantum Development Kit
• Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography and existing cryptographic standards
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Cybersecurity
