Quantum Computing Engineer
Job Summary
To support a federal government client, the full-time Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer will implement and test cryptographic algorithms using programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java, while advising on quantum-resistant algorithm migration and collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risks in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Utilize programming languages for implementing and testing cryptographic algorithms
- Advise on quantum-resistant algorithm migration plans and post-quantum cryptography implementation strategies
- Assess organizational cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of IT experience, including 5 years in quantum computing and cryptography
- Expertise in quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, and quantum information theory
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages and frameworks such as Qiskit and Cirq
- Familiarity with existing cryptographic standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 19790)
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Cybersecurity
