Job Summary
To support traffic design and transportation engineering efforts, the full-time Railroad Grade Crossing Designer will conduct safety analyses, prepare design plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a fully remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct traffic operations and safety analyses for rail grade crossings and associated roadway projects
- Prepare preliminary and final design plans, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Coordinate drafting of project deliverables and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards
Required qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
- 0-3 years of experience in rail/traffic engineering, grade crossing design, or related transportation work
- Experience working with public agencies and municipalities; state DOT experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of traffic operations, signal design, safety analyses, and roadway design
- Proficiency with CADD, Synchro, GIS, and other traffic modeling or design software
