Job Summary
Supporting the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Congenital Heart Surgery Database (CHSD) Audit Program, the part-time remote Registered Nurse CHSD Reviewer will conduct independent reviews of medical records, ensuring data accuracy and completeness while adhering to established quality standards.
Key responsibilities
- Review and audit clinical data against source medical record documentation for the STS Congenital Heart Surgery Database
- Validate case selection, procedure coding, and registry variables for accuracy and completeness
- Document findings and identify discrepancies in accordance with HMS audit methodologies
Required qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN), physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or other clinically licensed healthcare professional
- Minimum two years of recent clinical, registry abstraction, quality improvement, or audit experience
- Experience reviewing complex medical records
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation requirements and medical terminology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic medical records
