Job Summary

Owning the regulatory strategy, the full-time Regulatory Affairs Director will build and lead Nearmap's insurance regulatory affairs function, engaging with regulators and advising insurance customers on best practices for using aerial imagery and AI products in admitted markets, while working onsite in Lehi, UT.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage the regulatory strategy, including filing programs and objection responses, while collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Act as the primary contact throughout the filing lifecycle, from pre-filing consultation to post-approval maintenance
  • Track and analyze regulatory developments related to aerial imagery and AI, representing Nearmap's interests in relevant forums
Required qualifications
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in property and casualty rate filings, regulatory affairs, or state product management
  • Hands-on experience managing complete filing lifecycles and preparing regulator-ready materials
  • Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Familiarity with SERFF and multi-state prior-approval processes
  • Experience with AI, predictive models, or catastrophe model filings is preferred
