Job Summary
To shape the regulatory landscape for aerial imagery in the insurance industry, the full-time salaried Regulatory Affairs Director will build and lead Nearmap's insurance regulatory affairs function, engaging with regulators and advising customers on best practices while managing the filing lifecycle and strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Own Nearmap's regulatory strategy and filing program, coordinating submissions and maintaining compliance across states
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory engagements, managing objection responses and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Track and represent Nearmap's interests in regulatory activities, ensuring new products are filing-ready and compliant
Required qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in property and casualty rate filings or regulatory affairs, particularly in personal lines property
- Hands-on experience managing complete filing lifecycles and direct interactions with state insurance regulators
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency with SERFF and multi-state prior-approval processes
- Strong writing skills with the ability to translate complex technical information for regulators
