Reimbursement Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Reimbursement Specialist will manage the acquisition and maintenance of necessary documentation for reimbursement of home medical equipment, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims and supporting documents.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain physician orders, authorizations, and Certificates of Medical Necessity to secure reimbursement from insurance companies and government agencies
• Verify the accuracy of documentation and assist patient financial services with patient account charges
• Research and resolve overdue accounts through effective communication with patients and insurance providers

Required qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
• 2-3 years of experience in patient accounts, pharmacy, or equipment intake
• Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for medical equipment and infusion medications
• Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with computers and office software
