Reinsurance Strategist
Job Summary
Leading the design and execution of enterprise reinsurance architecture and statutory capital strategy, the full-time Reinsurance and Statutory Capital Strategist will manage complex reinsurance solutions, oversee captive insurance operations, and engage with regulatory bodies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and placement of reinsurance solutions to optimize risk transfer
- Oversee the management of captive insurance entities and intercompany reinsurance arrangements to enhance capital efficiency
- Serve as the primary liaison with insurance regulators and manage audit examinations related to reinsurance and capital adequacy
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in reinsurance, capital management, or corporate finance with a proven transaction history
- Hands-on experience with captive insurance entities and intercompany reinsurance transactions
- Thorough understanding of statutory accounting principles and Risk-Based Capital (RBC) mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to engage with state insurance regulators and manage financial examinations
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
