Release Engineer
Job Summary
Responsible for operational execution and software development, the full-time remote Release Engineer will manage rolling upgrades, oversee the release pipeline, and enhance internal tooling for ClickHouse Cloud's database platform.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute rolling upgrades across tens of thousands of ClickHouse clusters, ensuring safety and minimal customer impact
- Own the full release pipeline, from pre-upgrade validation to post-upgrade monitoring and incident response
- Build and improve internal tooling and automation for reliable large-scale database operations
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience operating stateful distributed systems in production
- Hands-on experience running upgrades or maintenance operations on live production data stores
- Strong production debugging skills under pressure
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Kubernetes
- Software development experience in Go or another language with a willingness to learn
