Release of Information Specialist
Job Summary
To support secure and authorized exchange of protected health information, the remote Release of Information Specialist will ensure compliance with state and federal privacy laws while processing requests for patient health information.
Key responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality and security of all protected health information
- Processes requests for patient health information in accordance with guidelines
- Documents inquiries and tracks the process of information requests through completion
Required qualifications
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience in release of information
- 1 year of experience in a behavioral health medical records department or related field
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems and EMR
- Experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Proficiency in cloud-based communication software such as Google Suite and Slack
