Release of Information Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Release of Information Specialist, the full-time remote position will manage inbound medical record requests, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations while collaborating with clients and team members to enhance mental healthcare accessibility.

Key responsibilities:

• Process and respond to medical record requests from various stakeholders within required timeframes
• Review and validate request documents to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and communicate effectively with clients and providers regarding their records needs

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Release of Information or medical records management
• Health information management education and/or credentials are a plus
• Proficiency in navigating EMRs and related software tools
• Experience in mental/behavioral health is a plus but not required
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on process improvement
