Remote Authorization Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Remote Authorization Specialist will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining prior authorization status for patient medications and therapies, collaborating with clinical and billing departments to ensure compliance with payer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Obtain and maintain prior authorization documentation for patient medications and therapies
• Collaborate with the clinical review department to complete the authorization process
• Support the billing department by providing necessary documentation to meet payer requirements

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years authorization, reimbursement, or claims processing experience required
• Practical experience with medical terminology and coding (CPT, ICD-9, HCPC) preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payor contracts preferred
• Understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements preferred
