Remote Electrical Plans Examiner
Job Summary
Offering an on-call opportunity, the Remote Electrical Plans Examiner will conduct non-structural plan reviews of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards while interacting with municipal clients and providing technical assistance to inspection personnel.
Key responsibilities
- Provide complete non-structural plan reviews for compliance with city, state, and federal codes
- Initiate preconstruction conferences with contractors and developers, addressing field problems as needed
- Assess and resolve complaints from clients, applicants, and contractors while maintaining direct communication with municipal staff
Required qualifications
- ICC Building Plans Examiner certification is required
- ICC Plans Examiner Certification in Electrical Plan Review is mandatory
- Experience in reviewing construction plans is essential
- Basic knowledge of land development processes, including zoning regulations
- Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology
