Remote Instructional Designer and Training Content Specialist
Job Summary
As an Instructional Designer / Training Content Specialist, you will join a strong team of digital learning experts who partner with our clients to determine the best approach for delivering their curriculum in an empowered and connected learning model that meets our gig worker, where they are at. We believe in experiential learning that is social and collaborative empowering our GBAs to create, curate and build communities of learning, where, when, and how they want to learn.
Our Digital Learning Training Content Specialists will be responsible designing and developing training content in a blended virtual learning environment and the activities needed to validate the readiness of our GBAs including hands-on activities, mock calls [chats, emails, text], and other real-life knowledge checks to certify our GBAs are ready to represent our client's brands with excellence.
Digital Content will be small, focused web-based content, videos, simulations, and other formats that will be utilized in micro-learning, spaced and just-in-time learning accessible via courses, knowledge bases and bots.
Certification courses are designed to meet our gig workers, where they are at. Empowering them to learn what is needed to support their business on the project they are working. As their own boss, they need flexibility to obtain their certification. Our GBAs come with vast amounts of knowledge and providing them the environment to share their expertise and upload their knowledge checks (create & curate content) with a community of other learners during their certification is a key differential of Omni Interactions.
When you are not developing content, you can pick up hours as a GBA on a project or complete project-based work only. New client implementation projects require up to 35 - 40 hours per week and working business hours in partnership with our client's learning and development team.
What You'll Do:
Provide education, resources, and tools to GBAs on products, services, and processes to achieve their certification required to support client customers
Support GBAs with their business partnership with Omni in a blended learning environment (live, virtual classes, eLearning) and just in time (JIT) resources and reference materials when handling live customer interactions
All content will be created in a digital format in small, focused topics that will be used during certification courses and easily accessible while supporting customers (bots/knowledge base)
Responsible for designing certification processes applying adult, active and social learning pedagogies. Empowering our GBAs to create and curate content to share their expertise and validate their knowledge.
Create Facilitator Guides for instructor-led and certification validation activities such as debriefs, mock calls and role-plays
Design and create other company-wide courses and JIT resources as needed
What You'll Do (as a GBA, if desired to keep hours consistent):
Answer inbound customer service calls
Quickly help customers with good solutions
Solve problems in a creative way
Document details of calls and customer interactions in the appropriate systems
Type and talk at the same time
Navigate multiple systems, programs, and screens at the same time
WHO IS OMNI
We create communities of Gig Brand Ambassadors (GBAs for short), who can retail their flexible lifestyle being 1099 independent contractors - in business for themselves. As a gig worker with Omni, you are self-employed, you are your own boss, supporting some of the country's leading brands. Our GBA primary roles are to provide customer service (taking inbound phone calls, answering chat messages, and responding to emails) for Fortune 500 companies. We are currently seeking Instructional Designers and Content Specialist who will flex between content design and development projects and working as a GBA supporting and interacting with customers or willing to work project-based projects only.

Lesson and curriculum planning skills
Experience curating digital and media content (job aids, videos, simulations, audio)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent English language skills

Strong abilities to work with a multi-discipline team
Enthusiasm for learning innovative technologies and techniques
Outstanding presentation skills (when working on client-facing projects)

Solve practical problems using a variety of tools and resources (personal and program-specific)
Detailed oriented
What You'll Have (Experience):
Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System, LXP experience is a plus
Visual design skills and ability to storyboard
Ability to write and create effective instructional text, audio/videos, and system simulations
Microsoft Office Suite experience required

No Chromebooks, tablets or mobile devices can be used. Many client systems do not work in a Mac environment and will not be able to be used to create simulations. We do not recommend a Mac as it may limit project work.

As a self-employed 1099 Independent Contractor providing Work From Home (WFH) certification courses and job aids, you are responsible for your own tax obligations.
