Job Summary
A mass media company is seeking a Remote Media Overnight Associate Editor.
Core Responsibilities of this position include:
- Working directly with Managing Editors & Deputy Managing Editors on newsgathering for your team of editors and reporters
- Approving and rejecting pitches from reporters and editors that touch all content verticals on the news desk
- Working quickly in breaking news situations to help our news team be fast and precise
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study or
- Equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of experience in news: digital or TV
- Experience with digital analytics (Chartbeat, Adobe Analytics etc.) to monitor, and build traffic
- Experience using content management systems
- Knowledge of AP style, exceptional knowledge of current events & politics
