Remote Medical Coding Reviewer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Remote IP Quality Reviewer will access and review medical record documentation for coding accuracy using ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT coding classification systems, while entering findings into proprietary quality review tracking software and responding to coder rebuttals in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

• Review medical records for coding and abstracting accuracy according to quality review policies
• Utilize facility EMR and scanning technology to conduct thorough reviews of patient records
• Document daily review findings and respond to coder rebuttals as per established timelines

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of medical coding or review experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant experience may substitute for formal education)
• Active coding credentials such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, CIC, or COC
• Commitment to maintain coding credentials while employed
• Successful completion of the coding competency exam
