Job Summary

Processing refunds for patient and insurance accounts, the full-time Remote Medical Refunds Specialist will utilize various computer systems to manage credit balances, ensure compliance with refund procedures, and communicate discrepancies while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Process refunds to patient and insurance accounts and prepare daily credit balance reports
• Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and apply appropriate adjustments
• Communicate refund issues and collaborate with internal departments and external payers

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years of accounts receivable experience in a hospital or medical setting
• Experience with Managed Care Contracts and Federal programs preferred
• Knowledge of payer reimbursement policies and healthcare revenue cycle operations preferred
