Remote VA Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Wholesale DE/VA Underwriter, the fully remote position will underwrite FHA and VA residential mortgage loans, focusing on complex and manual VA underwriting while managing an underwriting pipeline independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite Wholesale/TPO FHA and VA residential mortgage loans
- Perform complex and manual VA underwrites and issue underwriting decisions in accordance with guidelines
- Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, liabilities, and overall loan risk while reviewing VA appraisals and issuing Notices of Value (NOVs)
Required Qualifications
- Recent Wholesale/TPO mortgage underwriting experience
- Active FHA DE designation
- Active VA LAPP/SAR designation
- Experience issuing a VA Notice of Value (NOV) within the past 11 months
- Strong recent experience with manual VA underwriting and complex loan scenarios
