Research Billing Coordinator

Job Summary

To ensure accurate billing for clinical research, the full-time Research Billing Coordinator will review patient accounts against clinical trial protocols and work closely with various teams to facilitate claims processing in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily reports of research subject registrations and match them to patient encounters for charge audits
• Collaborate with researchers and the revenue cycle team to identify research subject encounters and ensure correct billing practices
• Convert charge information into invoices for research services and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable

Required qualifications

• Associate Degree in Business or equivalent work experience
• Two years of experience in healthcare finance or revenue cycle operations
• Experience in clinical research preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and/or medical coding preferred
• Preferred certifications include Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
