Research Finance Director

Job Summary

Leading the School of Medicine's centralized Research Finance Hub, the full-time salaried Research Finance Director will oversee post-award financial management, collaborate with various stakeholders, and ensure effective financial stewardship across research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the development of a scalable shared-services model for research finance and establish operational standards
• Provide oversight of research financial management activities and maintain compliance frameworks for sponsored projects
• Serve as the senior research finance advisor, integrating sponsored funding considerations into departmental planning and decision-making

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Research Administration, or a related field
• 8 years of experience in supporting complex sponsored research portfolios, with at least 4 years in a leadership role
• Advanced knowledge of research financial management and federal regulations related to sponsored programs
• Ability to lead organizational change and build collaborative partnerships in a complex environment
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate financial information into actionable recommendations
