Revenue Recovery Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance revenue recovery efforts, the fully remote Revenue Recovery Specialist will investigate accounts, resolve outstanding balances through appeals, and identify insurance underpayments while managing a high volume of cases daily.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve 25-30 accounts daily that have been improperly denied or underpaid by insurance carriers
• Monitor denial and appeals trends, providing management with reports and recommendations for process improvements
• Verify insurance payments for accuracy and compliance, and establish relationships with third-party payor representatives to resolve claims issues

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Hospital Billing, Insurance follow-up, or Denial resolution, with at least 3 years in a hospital patient accounts department
• Intermediate knowledge of hospital billing, revenue cycle processes, and medical terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications
• Ability to navigate healthcare information systems to identify root causes of denials and variances
