Reverse Mortgage Underwriter
Job Summary
To accurately evaluate and underwrite HECM reverse mortgage loan files, the full-time Remote Mortgage Underwriter - Reverse will assess risk, review loan documentation, and ensure compliance with FHA guidelines while collaborating with operational teams.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate risk in accordance with HECM FHA guidelines and company policies
- Review loan files, including title and appraisal reports, to set terms for approval or identify rejection reasons
- Communicate loan decisions effectively to sales channels and management as needed
Required qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mortgage loan underwriting required
- Reverse mortgage experience is a plus
- FHA Direct Endorsement strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but not required
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products
