Job Summary
Supporting the Department of State's Cyber Security Team, the hybrid remote Risk Governance and POA&M Specialist will manage risk characterization, POA&M development, and remediation tracking for critical consular systems while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity mandates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct consistent risk characterization and develop POA&M with realistic milestones and closure evidence
- Track and recommend escalation for overdue and stalled findings across RMF delivery teams
- Analyze portfolio trends and support authorization briefings and audits while maintaining independent assessor conclusions
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship and a final Secret clearance or higher
- Relevant degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or a related discipline
- Senior-level experience in Federal cybersecurity risk and POA&M management
- Strong understanding of NIST controls and vulnerability prioritization
- Ability to produce clear technical risk analysis and executive summaries
