Job Summary
To support a new AI-driven threat and risk management platform, the full-time Risk Model Engineer will develop and validate gas distribution risk models, focusing on integrating diverse datasets and producing explainable risk rankings while working remotely from the US or Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate the gas distribution threat framework into systematic threat identification methods and supporting data structures
- Develop and extend threat coverage across various domains, including legacy material corrosion and excavation damage
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to identify gaps and limitations in source data affecting model inputs and outputs
Required Qualifications
- Experience in gas distribution integrity management program design and threat identification under 49 CFR Part 192, Subpart P
- Knowledge of legacy material risks, including cast iron and vintage plastics
- Familiarity with leak survey, methane detection, and cross-bore programs
- Experience applying machine learning to physical asset data, including time-series and classification models
- Curiosity and judgment to work across various modeling and data integration areas
