Risk Team Underwriter

Job Summary

To support the Risk Team, the full-time Risk Team Underwriter will evaluate underwriting referrals, conduct forensic reviews, and partner with compliance teams while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate underwriting referrals and determine the need for further investigation or referral to the Special Investigations Unit
• Conduct forensic underwriting reviews, including background checks and medical record analyses
• Serve as a subject matter resource for Individual Life Underwriting teams and corporate partners on underwriting processes and requirements

Required qualifications

• Significant experience in Individual Life underwriting with a strong understanding of medical and financial processes
• Experience evaluating complex or escalated underwriting cases and identifying potential risk concerns
• Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to make sound underwriting recommendations
• Ability to work effectively with Underwriting, Claims, Compliance, and other business partners
• Access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico
