Routing Specialist
Job Summary
Supporting the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture, the full-time remote Routing Specialist will manage daily route planning and optimization for dedicated customers, utilizing automated processes and routing software to produce optimal route plans for execution by the operating team.
Key responsibilities
- Perform daily route planning using transportation modeling software and automated processes
- Monitor electronic processing of customer order files and completed routes
- Produce optimal, executable multi-stop dedicated routes based on customer orders within defined timeframes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- 0 to 1 year of experience in the Transportation or Supply Chain Industry
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Basic knowledge of Lean core tools/processes
- Understanding of data visualization tools and database programming is preferred
