Scientific Review Officer

Job Summary

Managing the scientific and operational aspects of the peer review process, the full-time Scientific Review Officer will evaluate and select qualified reviewers, facilitate peer review meetings, and ensure consistent application of review criteria in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Determine expertise needed for peer review activities and assign qualified reviewers
• Provide guidance to reviewers on policies, criteria, and monitor critique quality and submission
• Administer and facilitate peer review meetings while ensuring accurate documentation of outcomes

Required qualifications

• A PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant discipline
• At least five years of relevant professional experience post-doctorate
• Scientific credibility and professional judgment to guide researchers and clinicians
• Outstanding scientific writing skills and strong organizational abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based systems
