Scrum Master

Job Summary

Managing multiple concurrent Scrum teams, the full-time Scrum Master will facilitate Agile ceremonies, maintain Jira boards, and coordinate cross-team dependencies while working remotely to support the Department of Veterans Affairs' digital modernization initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate sprint planning, daily Scrums, backlog refinement, and retrospectives, ensuring sessions are focused and time-boxed
• Own and manage multiple Jira boards, tracking commitments, sprint progress, and delivery risks while maintaining issue hygiene and reporting views
• Coach teams on Scrum values and self-management, while coordinating dependencies across teams and resolving impediments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, IT, engineering, computer science, management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
• 7+ years of experience in Agile delivery, including significant hands-on experience as a Scrum Master supporting multiple teams
• Advanced hands-on experience with Jira, including board configuration, workflows, and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies and coordinate cross-team dependencies in complex environments
• Strong understanding of Scrum roles, events, and metrics, along with the ability to coach teams toward measurable improvement
