Search Designer

Job Summary

To rebuild the Search experience from the ground up, the full-time remote Search Designer will establish design principles, craft user interactions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance how neighbors find local information.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the design foundation for Search, including principles, patterns, and components for a seamless user experience
• Design the full Search journey, integrating both organic and sponsored results while ensuring clarity for users
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to implement smarter ranking and query understanding in the interface

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience, particularly in search or content-heavy applications
• A strong portfolio showcasing interaction and visual design, including handling of various user states
• Fluency in search mechanisms, including query understanding and ranking, to effectively design alongside ML features
• Experience working with ads or monetization teams, demonstrating an understanding of user-centric paid content
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Swift, Java, or Xcode
