Job Summary
To support the Department of Education's Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services, the remote Security Control Assessor will manage Security Authorization activities, review security documentation, and assist in maintaining ATO packages.
Key responsibilities
- Support Security Authorization and Ongoing Security Authorization activities in alignment with the Risk Management Framework
- Review and provide input on security documentation, including System Security Plans and Risk Assessments, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Track ATO renewal dates and coordinate with stakeholders for timely submissions and compliance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related experience
- Industry professional certification
- Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework and system authorization processes
- Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls
- Familiarity with cybersecurity GRC tools such as CSAM
