Security Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Security Engineer will ensure the safety of code through threat modeling, risk evaluation, and the development of security tools while collaborating closely with the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain threat models for systems and features, and review code for security vulnerabilities
• Develop security utility tools and automation to enhance security processes and integrate with developer tooling
• Conduct penetration tests and attack simulations to identify and demonstrate security gaps

Required qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in software or security engineering
• Proficiency in coding with languages such as Python or Go
• Hands-on experience with application security practices, including threat modeling and code review
• Knowledge of cloud security, particularly in AWS, and CI/CD pipeline security integration
• Ability to think like an attacker and effectively communicate findings to engineering teams
