Security Engineer, Risk Management

Job Summary

Owning and operationalizing a third-party risk management and business continuity program, the full-time Security Engineer specializing in Risk Management will build data pipelines and AI workflows to enhance security and compliance across Block's operations while collaborating with various teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operationalize a third-party risk management and business continuity program
• Define technical approaches for cross-team problem spaces and design policy-as-code solutions
• Build and maintain integrations that aggregate risk, control, and asset signals from multiple systems

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in backend, platform, data, or software engineering
• Experience in third-party risk management and business continuity
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and integration patterns like REST APIs and webhooks
• Ability to define technical direction in ambiguous problem spaces across teams
