Security Operations Staff Engineer

Job Summary

Driving detection and response strategy, the full-time remote Security Operations Staff Engineer will lead hands-on initiatives, build detection systems, and manage incident responses while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own and implement detection and response strategy, ensuring alignment with Security Key Results
• Design detection architecture and manage the detection lifecycle, including telemetry onboarding and alert tuning
• Lead high-severity incident responses and improve incident response processes across cloud and SaaS environments

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in detection and response, detection engineering, or incident response
• Proven track record of leading detection and response strategies with measurable outcomes
• Hands-on experience with detection architecture and modern SIEM tools, preferably Panther
• Strong skills in Python, Git, CI/CD, and detection-as-code methodologies
• Expertise in cloud and SaaS environments, with familiarity in tools such as GCP and Google Workspace
