Security Risk Management Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing security risk management initiative, the full-time Security Risk Management Specialist will define standards, analyze practices, and implement new security requirements while working remotely and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance the security of Canonical and the wider open source ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Define Canonical's security risk management standards and playbooks
• Analyze and improve Canonical's security risk practices and implement new security requirements
• Lead quantified risk assessments and develop templates for self-service risk management actions

Required qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path
• Expertise in threat modeling and risk management frameworks
• Experience in Secure Development Lifecycle and Security by Design methodology
• Deep technical understanding of security assessments and risk management
• Exceptional academic track record and leadership ability
