Security Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a talented Security Software Engineer, the full-time remote position will focus on enhancing Tailscale's product security by identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security features, and conducting threat modeling while spending at least 50% of the time on software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve security properties by implementing security and privacy features, bug fixes, and defense-in-depth across the codebase
• Audit features for technical security weaknesses and drive resolutions for identified issues
• Support engineering decisions with threat modeling and security analysis expertise

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Go
• Prior experience in application security, penetration testing, or threat modeling
• Deep understanding of web application vulnerabilities and common API security flaws
• Knowledge of cryptographic primitives and protocols
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to promote secure coding practices
