Senior Accessibility Expert
Job Summary
Providing technical leadership and advanced Section 508 guidance, the full-time Senior Accessibility Expert will support accessibility testing, document remediation, and governance reviews for DHS stakeholders in a fully remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Section 508 testing of websites, web applications, and electronic content
- Perform quality-control reviews of Section 508 test results and verify compliance with DHS Trusted Tester guidance
- Advise project teams on accessible design standards and integrate Section 508 considerations throughout the system development lifecycle
Required Qualifications
- Current DHS Trusted Tester Version 5.0 certification or later
- Current IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies certification
- At least two years of experience testing web content and applications for Section 508 conformance
- At least two years of experience testing and remediating electronic documents for Section 508 compliance
- Broad knowledge of the Revised Section 508 Standards
