Senior Accountant, Revenue & Commissions

Job Summary

To support accurate and timely accounting operations in a SaaS business, the remote contract Senior Accountant, Revenue & Commissions will focus on revenue accounting and sales commission processes while contributing to month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support from December to June.

Key responsibilities

• Perform revenue recognition activities during month-end close, including reviewing customer contracts and related supporting data
• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses while maintaining accurate revenue-related accounting records in Sage Intacct
• Review monthly commission files and coordinate with Finance partners on accruals, true-ups, and related entries

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting and month-end close
• Experience with Sage Intacct and its Contracts module strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles, preferably ASC 606
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support schedules
• Proficiency in Excel for analyzing large data sets and building supporting schedules
